Hello there *General Kenobi*

Introducing… my blog! lol

Let me start by introducing myself, in case ya don’t know me – I’m Kayl, a recent fine art grad and freelance graphic designer. I’m also an abstract oil painter and LOVE making mess and learning through play. I also love Star Wars (but that’s for another blog).

I’ve started this blog as a kind of ‘digital sketchbook’ to catalogue my playful, messy, energetic painting process in a way that is fun (and searchable!!). You’ll often find me making my own weird and wonderful paintbrush contraptions & mixing paint potions with things that *probably* shouldn’t be in paint.

I primarily work with oil paint, and have learned strictly through trial-and-error and play. Self-teaching through play has been a fantastic way to stop my brain from going ‘you can’t do that, it goes against the rules!’

I hope this blog serves not only as a nice wee digital sketchbook for me to look back on, but also as a source of inspiration for others to find some time in their day to have a bit of fun and make some cool stuff.
